How to export a Telegram chat
In short: Open Telegram Desktop → the chat → ⋮ → Export chat history → untick media → Format: Machine-readable JSON → Export. Upload result.json.
On Telegram Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- Open the chat or group in Telegram Desktop (the phone app can't export).
- Click ⋮ (top right) → Export chat history.
- Untick photos, videos and files — only messages are needed.
- Set Format to Machine-readable JSON, then Export.
- Upload the result.json file from the export folder.
