Chat history analyzer
Chat history analyzer — free stats and an AI read of any conversation
In short: To analyze a chat history, export the conversation from the app (WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram or Telegram) and upload the file to a chat history analyzer such as ChatWrapped. It parses the export in your browser and reports exact numbers per person — messages, who starts conversations, typical reply time, double texts, replies over 24 hours, late-night messages and emojis — then an AI explains the pattern. The stats are free; a full written report is $6.99 (1-on-1) or $9.99 (group).
- Accepts WhatsApp .txt/.zip, iMessage .txt (imessage-exporter), Instagram JSON and Telegram JSON
- Any phone language and date format for WhatsApp
- Files up to 60 MB, read on your device
- Contact details masked before anything leaves the browser
- No account; private link to your report

WhatsApp .txt / .zip · iMessage .txt · Instagram or Telegram .json — 1-on-1 or group. How do I export it?
Metrics it calculates
- total messages and words per person
- who starts conversations (and how often)
- typical reply time for each person
- double texts — messages sent before getting a reply
- replies that took 24 hours or more
- late-night messages and top emojis
- an interest index — e.g. 62% / 38% — and a first AI verdict
How the interest index works
Several signals people argue about are combined into one split: who opens conversations, who replies faster, who double-texts, who goes quiet for a day or more, and who asks more questions. The result reads like 62% / 38% — a quick answer to "who's putting in more?" — and the AI then backs it up with real moments from the chat.
It's an entertaining mirror of texting habits, not a verdict on a relationship: someone who replies slowly at work can still care a lot.
Which file to upload
- WhatsApp: Export Chat → Without Media; upload the .zip (iPhone) or .txt (Android).
- iMessage: on a Mac, run the free imessage-exporter with -f txt and upload the conversation's .txt.
- Instagram: Accounts Center → Download your information → Messages, JSON; upload message_1.json.
- Telegram: Telegram Desktop → Export chat history → JSON; upload result.json.

FAQ
Can I analyze a chat without uploading it anywhere?
The parsing and all the stats run in your browser. Only if you ask for the AI verdict does a masked excerpt (no phone numbers, emails, links or handles) go to the AI, and you can read that excerpt first.
Can it analyze screenshots?
Not yet. A text export is far more accurate — it has every message with its timestamp.
Does it work for group chats?
Yes. Group analysis ranks who carries the chat, gives each member a page and hands out awards. Group reports are $9.99.
Can I analyze someone else's chat?
No. Only upload chats you're part of, and you must be 13 or older. It isn't a monitoring tool.
Is my chat history stored?
The file is read in your browser. Names become first names, and phone numbers, emails, links, addresses and @handles are masked before anything is sent — you can see exactly what the AI will read. The masked excerpt is erased once the report is written, everything is deleted after 14 days, and nothing is used to train AI models.
